Research Areas: We are particularly interested in the areas, including but not limited to:

  • Power system modeling, estimation, identification, and synchrophasor measurement applications
  • Power system uncertainty quantification, cybersecurity, and resiliency
  • Power system dynamics and stability control with inverter-based resources
  • Big data analytics and machine learning for smart grid
  • Power distribution system/microgrid analysis, optimization, and control with high penetration of DERs

    Preferred qualifications: (1) M.S. in electrical engineering with a background in the areas of power and energy, machine learning, optimization, and control; (2) strong oral and written communication skills, (3) good programming skills and familiarity with one or more of the following tools: Python, MATLAB, OpenDSS, PSSE/PSLF, Hardware in the loop simulator and (4) good scores for GRE and TOFEL/IELTS scores (approximate historical ranges of TOFEL 90-110 and GRE is about 320). These scores are mandatory for graduate school application and admission.
